I sometimes wonder if these blasphemous tongues actually don't have anything else to do ??? Even Anne-Nicolette my favourite person, would tease me when she found me lying in the grass (drawing!) at one of my favourite spots. She playfully chaffed me about letting the wind caress my feet, which in her somewhat flowery parlance meant that I was just lazing about. Of course, my impish soul sister had to make up a saying on that as well.... If I remember correctly, it roughly went like this: In the high grass she lies outstreched, Alisande the pretty muse, Her hand she raises in friendly greeting and enjoys to the full, That the wind, the wind, the heavenly child, Quite boldly and unabashedly, Caresses her bare soles. (Had I had the gift of verse, I could have written a rhyme about the enthusiasm with which my dear Demoiselle Nicolette time and again took over the work of the wind, while I tried to concentrate on drawing the calyxes and petals...) For me as a paintress, or actually still a painter's apprentice, painting according to nature - even though I love it and can relax while doing it - is, however, still an important part of my work. As good Master Cennini put it, only continuous and persistent practice leads to masterful artistry ...
The Lord has rewarded me with art and through art I shall praise his name

I BID YOU WELCOME GOOD SIRS My name is Alisande
and I appreciate you've dropped by. I'm a limner and scrivener - or as you would put it in your 21st century - an illuminator and scribe. I was born in the year of the Lord 1394. Shortly after my 16th birthday, I suddenly found myself - heaven knows through which mysterious occurrences - in the 21st century. Since then I have been living with a couple who very lovingly and affectionately took me in. Since they are both painters and book illustrators, I can even help them with their work. Information about their art you can find on their websites: In the course of time me and my feline chaperone Harry became rather well known and started to receive a lot of messages from near and far.
It became clear: We needed our own space where we can correspond with all our devoted followers and friends. So Norman - one of my two artist friends - set up this 'Chronicle' for us. Here you can have a chat with me and my rascally mouser. Archives
