I am very much looking forward to visiting you and little Rosalie in your secret garden. It seems to me to be a true paradise. Meinen herzlichen Dank, Eva! (© Eva Becker, Mainz 2021) Thank you soooo much! You are just great, my dear friends!
It is really great how you react to our idea of creating here a chapter with poems and stories. Today we received another submission. This time it is a wonderful little poem by our friend Eva Becker from Mainz. My heartfelt thanks, Eva! I send you a strong hug and a big kiss on swift wings.
Knopf hier. Somewhere in the Eifel, April 23, 2021 Dear Allisande, I'd like to tell you a true story about books! A long time ago, a girl lived in a very beautiful little old house. It had a very deep basement in which she kept all her favorite things from her childhood. She had 7 dolls, of whom she still remembers all the names: Babette with her red curls, Loesje with her blonde hair, Anja with black, brush-like hair and half blind, Jeanneke with only one arm, Elsje with long dark hair and one eye, Polly, a baby doll with a sound in her belly and Liesbetje with feet eaten by her young dog. They were all equally dear to her and were waiting until later, when she would have a bigger house where they would get a permanent spot. There was also a chest with her very first books: a large Pinocchio book and ‘My First Reading Book’ plus a very nice little book, named ‘Wim's Dream’. She still remembers all the pictures and still knows some lyrics by heart. The trees had torn bark, held together by large pins. There was a witch in it, and gnomes and she can still smell the pages! In the chest were also notebooks with her own made up stories and the best thing was her herbarium: that was what she was most proud of. Hours of searching for flowers and plants and all the descriptions that came with it: how much she had enjoyed searching and making and browsing through the pages gave a certain peace. She made it at the age of 10. Then … One day she left for a few weeks and when she got home a sad announcement awaited her: there had been a leak and all things had 'drowned'… she rushed to the basement expecting everything to be high and dry, but nothing . The basement was completely empty… Everything had already been thrown away, including her dolls, her books, her herbarium. Of course she was deeply and deeply sad. Why thrown away? She could have dried it, right? After thinking about this loss for almost 50 years, she decided to act: She searched the books in antiquarian booksellers on the internet and found them all... A few years ago, in the castle in Vianden, so dear to you and I, your master taught her even more intricacies of calligraphy and she started looking for wild flowers in 2019. She found more than 300 species and made 3 herbaria with the medicinal effect in calligraphy, thanks to your master Allisande! Maybe also fun for you: here you can read exactly how she made them: https://www.ellenevabrouwers.com/persbericht-1/ Precious childhood memories, once lost, can always be brought back to life ... if you want. Lots of love to you, to Harry and to your Master and Michelle Courtesy of Mrs. Ellen Brouwers. (© Ellen Brouwers, 2021) Isn't that great! No sooner have I received mail from our friend Ralph than the next story arrives.... It was written down by our friend Ellen Brouwers and has to do with a beautiful book that Ellen wrote down completely by hand. If you would like to have a look at the book, press the button here. You will then be taken as swiftly as the wind to Ellen's chronicle. ... And here is Ellen's story (see above) which she kindly sent to me.

Eure Alisande English Greetings my dear friends! I recently told you that my artist friend Norman has been busy hatching some mysterious plans for quite a while. In the meantime I found out what he has been cooking up so diligently: It has to do with the WORLD DAY OF THE BOOK on 23 April. Together with his colleague Annette Greve, he is planning a small 'spectaculum' which, as he told me, will take place entirely in the virtual world. Well, as an offspring of the 15th century, please don't ask me what that means. I'll probably need a few more centuries to understand it all. But for you people of the 21st century, it's no big secret. So if you want to know what Norman and Annette have planned, press the button below. Norman has told me that it leads you directly to his chronicle, so you can see exactly what it's about. As I learned from him, the WORLD DAY OF THE BOOK is celebrated to encourage people to reach out and open up to each other through reading, readings and books, even if they are separated by physical distance; to motivate them to 'travel around' by virtue of their imagination. The sharing of stories, quotes, poems and messages of different kinds and in different languages, are meant to symbolise the power of books and to encourage as much reading as possible. The sharing of 'reading material' and knowledge is intended to create a global sense of community that can also curb loneliness. Norman, as I already mentioned, has been brooding over these thoughts and ideas for quite a while, thinking about how he could implement them with his possibilities. You may have already seen the what came out of it for his chronicle. Last but not least, he came up with something wonderful for my 'diarium' here. If - as I said above - quotations, poems and stories connect people all over the world, then it stands to reason that they can do so even more when it comes to visitors of my 'diarium' and my friends, doesn't it? Norman has thought of the following: Those of you, my dear friends and guests, who take pleasure in it, can send me ... ... a letter... or ... a poem... or ... a little story ... or ... a quote. It would be great if the thoughts you send me could relate to our latest illustrations. I would be most delighted if you could send me texts and thoughts about the illustration that our friend Elke has called 'Schmetterlingstraum' (Butterfly Dream) ... ... But I would be just as happy if you would send me something about this illustration in which my mischievous artist friend has drawn my best friend Nicolette and me fooling around ... By the way, the motif doesn't have a name yet ... so if you think of something ... If you have ideas, please send them to Norman's address: [email protected] Your submissions should be serious. That doesn't mean they can't be funny, witty or light-hearted. They just shouldn't be as wacky as the one from my rhyming friend Nicolette, who has promised me a treatise entitled 'On the art of tickling Alisande's feet and blaming it on Harry the Claw'.
Sad or overly melancholic lyrics are perhaps not exactly what one needs in times when a horrid pestilence is sweeping the country. Well, I don't want to make too many restrictions now. You will come up with something nice. I'm sure you will. It would be good if you could send Norman a statement with your text that you allow him to publish your text here on this website. Finally, we have thought of a little reward for all those who submit us their text: The first ten entrants will receive an art print of the 'Schmetterlingstraum' illustration in A4 format as a gift. So, now I am looking forward to your submissions. Farewell and may the Lord be with you. Yours Alisande
My artist friend Norman is just colouring a few pages of our first colouring book. Do you remember it? That was the one with the beautiful fanciful flower pictures. If you want to refresh your memory a bit, check out "About our Colouring Books - Alisande Ysabella Peyntour (weebly.com)". There you can see samples of them. To give users a better idea of how to colour the pictures, Norman is, as I said, colouring some of the templates.

I BID YOU WELCOME GOOD SIRS My name is Alisande
and I appreciate you've dropped by. I'm a limner and scrivener - or as you would put it in your 21st century - an illuminator and scribe. I was born in the year of the Lord 1394. Shortly after my 16th birthday, I suddenly found myself - heaven knows through which mysterious occurrences - in the 21st century. Since then I have been living with a couple who very lovingly and affectionately took me in. Since they are both painters and book illustrators, I can even help them with their work. Information about their art you can find on their websites: In the course of time me and my feline chaperone Harry became rather well known and started to receive a lot of messages from near and far.
It became clear: We needed our own space where we can correspond with all our devoted followers and friends. So Norman - one of my two artist friends - set up this 'Chronicle' for us. Here you can have a chat with me and my rascally mouser. Archives
