The following picture shows you an assortment of them ... a real revelation ... I tell you! (Werbung ⦏ da Namensnennung⦐ - unbezahlt) I know what you're thinking ... You're asking yourselves: "Where-is-this-bakery?" Well, I'll reveal it to you. The place is called Kaysersberg and it's not too far from the little town where we are living. There you find the said bakery in the main street. It is called L'ENFARINÉ. If you want to visit their chronicle ... uhm, sorry ... I mean their website, you can find them here:

Edle Herrn und holde Damen, ich wollte Euch schon immer einmal unser charmantes kleines Städtchen vorstellen.
Nun hat mein Meister so ein kleines Kästchen, das er "Kamera" nennt. Mit diesem mystriösen Ding hat er kürzlich ein paar schöne Ansichten unseres Örtchens für mich eingefangen, sodaß ich Euch all dessen malerische und bezaubernden Ecken und Winkel zeigen kann...
pensive than gold. The substance isn't exactly poisonous but as usual one should be very careful when grinding pigments. Protect your mouth and nose with a piece of wet cloth, wash your hands immediately and thoroughly when you've finished your work ... and my master would possibly add to this list of precautions "keep those rascally cats away and don't walk around barefooted" ...
Um, ... well, ... so please don't tell him what you see here, otherwise I might get my ears pulled. Now here comes the instruction how to prepare lapis colour ... in case you should want to try it by yourself. A colleague of my master who goes by the name of Heinrich von Lübbegge wrote it down. If you wish to prepare blue pigment, lay it on a grinding slab and take the yolk of an egg. Grind it thoroughly with the blue adding a little bit of water to it. When it is dry on the slab, put it into a little pot and wash it well with water till it is nice and clean. Then take gum arabic and grind it on your slab and dilute it with water. Put this in a horn and add your blue and also a little bit of honey. This will give you a lovely bright blue which will flow well from pens or brushes. |

I BID YOU WELCOME GOOD SIRS My name is Alisande
and I appreciate you've dropped by. I'm a limner and scrivener - or as you would put it in your 21st century - an illuminator and scribe. I was born in the year of the Lord 1394. Shortly after my 16th birthday, I suddenly found myself - heaven knows through which mysterious occurrences - in the 21st century. Since then I have been living with a couple who very lovingly and affectionately took me in. Since they are both painters and book illustrators, I can even help them with their work. Information about their art you can find on their websites: In the course of time me and my feline chaperone Harry became rather well known and started to receive a lot of messages from near and far.
It became clear: We needed our own space where we can correspond with all our devoted followers and friends. So Norman - one of my two artist friends - set up this 'Chronicle' for us. Here you can have a chat with me and my rascally mouser. Archives
